Le Festin de Vampire ~ Chapter 03-16

03-16 A Series of Unfortunate Events

Alysia and Lisel took flight over the royal capital while enjoying the cool breeze.

The scenery beneath them was a spectacle even more radiant and dazzling than when they had once viewed the academy from above during the grand tournament.

In particular, the bustling city center leading to the castle gate was filled with a myriad of shops and taverns.

“…Where should we land?”

“Maybe in an alley?”

“That would do.”

Given the dense population, finding a place to land was indeed a challenge. If they wished to land unseen, an alleyway was their only choice.

To avoid exposing the underside of her skirt at all costs, Alysia, who had been casually flying behind Lisel, adjusted her wings’ angle, reduced air resistance, and descended swiftly. Of course, she firmly held her skirt down with both hands as she did so.

Thud!

Following Alysia’s landing, Lisel touched down as well. Looking over her shoulder, she could see the brightly lit city center in the distance.

Keeping a comfortable distance, Alysia and Lisel walked side by side towards the city center after retracting their wings.

“This looks to be a tavern.”

After walking for a while, they eventually reached the city center where many lamps powered by fire magic were installed.

Just as Lisel had pointed out, it appeared they had landed near the back of a tavern. A group of drunken men were causing quite a commotion on the tavern’s roofed terrace.

“Ah, I sense trouble incoming.”

“Don’t say that… I’m trying not to think about it.”

Upon closer inspection, they noticed some kind of commotion at the center. Evidently, some kind of spectacle was drawing a crowd.

“Yahoo! The brown-haired guy won!”

At the center of the crowd, a cry was heard. As some rejoiced, raising their hands in the air, others collapsed to the floor, clutching their heads in despair.

“…Gambling.”

“So, want to give it a go?”

“I dislike such things.”

Despite Alysia’s words, a boy and a girl standing in an alleyway peering into a tavern would naturally stand out.

Unbeknownst to them, they had already become the center of attention among the tavern’s patrons, and the situation was veering in an unexpected direction.

“Who will you bet on, me or this lady!?”

“Hehe, it’s obviously you!”

“Wait, when did I agree to this?”

The men, engrossed in the conversation, completely ignored Alysia’s protest. However, Alysia was more surprised at Lisel being hyped up about the situation.

“Well then, I’ll bet a silver coin on Alysia.”

“What, Lisel!?”

Hearing about the wager of a single silver coin caused a noticeable change in the men’s expressions.

“…Well, this is interesting! Let’s get started!!”

The man at the front initiated the challenge, and the surrounding men roared in agreement.

Taking this as a cue, a man named Lutos launched a full-on attack at Alysia.

…Ah, she’s gonna die, everyone in the vicinity thought.

Yet, despite thinking exactly the same thing, Lisel considered the complete opposite.

“Take this!!”

“…Quiet.”

In response to Lutos’ roar, Alysia, with a disgruntled expression, gently placed her left hand on his incoming right one.

“Wha, ah…!?”

Numbness spread from where Alysia’s hand made contact, and in an instant, Lutos was rendered immobile.

His entire body was paralyzed and couldn’t move. The cause was the magic power Alysia had channeled into him from where her hand had touched him.

She moved her left hand to the back with a flowing motion and immediately activated her wind magic “Bullet Gust”.

With his body paralyzed, Lutos couldn’t even move his fingertips. The attack sent him flying a great distance.

“Ugghh!!”

Tumbling across the ground and finally coming to a halt upon hitting a building, Lutos was immobilized. Whether Alysia’s aim was good or it was by pure coincidence, nobody, not even the passersby or the shops, was impacted.

Staring at the sprawled out Lutos, Alysia spoke in an exasperated tone.

“…Your attack is too simple. You should try a more elaborate move.”

“I can still fight…”

“No, it’s a hassle.”

Observing Alysia’s decisive refusal to continue the fight, Lutos lost all will to continue.

He probably felt hesitant about fighting seriously against a young girl, even if he knew from her visible fangs that she was a vampire.

“…So you win because he lost the will to fight? Then, how about three times the wager, three silver coins?”

“No need. Just drink and enjoy your night here.”

Leaving these words behind, Alysia grabbed Lisel’s arm and briskly began to walk away. The reason was that a crowd had begun to gather around the tavern. If they made too much of a commotion, they risked attracting the attention of the local guards.

…However, at that moment, Lutos managed to slip a silver coin into Alysia’s pocket without her noticing.

After a while, the pair continued their lighthearted conversation as they walked, finally arriving at a plaza a short distance from the downtown area.

From the center of the plaza, a beautiful geometric pattern of bricks arranged in a circular design unfolded across its spacious expanse.

“How did you manage to immobilize that guy earlier?”

“I merely infused him with a slight flow of magic. I ensured not to stop his heart or lungs.”

“Isn’t that incredibly difficult to do?”

At some point, their conversation had pivoted to the fight from before. As they conversed, they settled down onto a wooden bench.

Alysia’s tone was gradually returning to normal. It appeared to have been affected by her emotional state.

Interrupting their talk as they sat down on the bench, Lisel raised a question that had been nagging at him.

“Speaking of which, that necklace of yours…”

“Well, I got this from a certain Valkyrie.”

“I see. I figured it must’ve been her…”

On Alysia’s chest was a necklace in the shape of a cross.

It was a gift from a woman known as Kurobi. Even now, it cast a soft glow as it reflected the faint light from the street lamps around the plaza.

“Do you know her real name?”

“I do, but I’m not allowed to tell you…”

“You’re mean.”

“I can’t help it. I promised her.”

From Lisel’s expression, it was evident he actually wanted to tell her. Likely because he understood Alysia’s earnest desire to know Kurobi’s real name.

“…Is it okay for a vampire to wear a cross?”

“Why wouldn’t it be? The idea that vampires despise crosses is essentially a religious concept, after all. Besides, isn’t the fact that a god and a vampire can be this close together proof enough?”

With that, Alysia sprung up energetically.

Even though Lisel (Yuu) was assimilated with a dragonkin, he was at his core still a divine existence. He was a “dragon god,” and his divine power served as evidence of this.

“I’m going to check out the weapons shop nearby. I need to get some souvenirs for Fia and the others.”

“I see. Have fun.”

“…No, you’re coming too.”

Alysia grabbed Lisel’s arm with a firm grip and took off running.

Despite her delicate appearance, her strength was formidable, catching Lisel off guard. He found himself unable to stop her.

“Whoa, wait!”

“Oh, found it. That weapon shop over there looks good!”

Like a child at an amusement park, Alysia tugged Lisel’s arm. She led him towards a weapon shop nestled in the corner of the plaza, as he wondered if they had ever done something similar before.

Le Festin de Vampire ~ Chapter 03-15

03-15 Commotion in the Royal Castle

Having concluded their discussion for the time being, Alysia and the King decided to leave the reception room. They planned to continue their conversation on the following day.

Handing her empty tea cup to a servant, Alysia stood up. After casting a glance towards the King, she exited the room ahead of him.

Click—

“Oh, Prince Leorl.”

“Alysia, has your conversation ended?”

Leorl, seemingly having waited by the door, approached Alysia as she stepped out. He gently took her right hand. However, from the expression on Alysia’s face, it was clear she was somewhat reluctant about this gesture.

“I wish to speak with you a bit further.”

“…As long as it’s not about a marriage proposal.”

“That’s a shame,” he replied with a chuckle. His response made Alysia shudder slightly, wondering if the proposal was actually entirely the King’s idea.

Unaware of Alysia’s concerns, Leorl made a suggestion.

“Then, what about meeting with Liesche?”

“If it’s just that, I have nothing else to do, so sure.”

Creak…

As Alysia voiced her agreement, the door opposite the reception room slowly opened, revealing Liesche standing there, her gaze fixed on her. Alysia was wondering if she was imagining it, but Liesche seemed to be wearing a dress that was even more adorable than usual.

Without delay, Liesche dashed towards Alysia and took her in an unexpected embrace.

“Alysia, I’ve been waiting for you!”

“Gh, it’s…tight…! Let go…!”

Thud.

“Oh… Are you alright?”

Just after Liesche had tightly squeezed Alysia, the latter weakly tilted her head backwards. Seeing this, Leorl wondered if she had fainted. However, Liesche unexpectedly exclaimed.

“No… Don’t die!”

“Who’s dying?!”

Reacting to Liesche’s dramatic statement, Alysia quickly snapped her head back into position and lightly tapped Liesche on the forehead, as if admonishing her. Their interaction resembled a well practised comedy routine, causing Leorl to let out a sigh of exasperation.

“Ah… Alysia?”

“What?”

“Will you be staying here tonight?”

Although Alysia initially responded curtly, her expression changed when she remembered that she had not booked any accommodations for the night.

Indeed, there were countless inns in the royal capital, whether it be the one she stayed at previously or the one on the third floor of the guild. However, she considered that staying in Illux Castle could be quite an interesting experience.

“I suppose I’m inclined to stay,” she admitted.

“In that case…”

“Allow me to make the arrangements,” the King interrupted, having emerged from the reception room. He stood before the three, his words addressing them all.

Liesche was insisting that the King arrange the finest guest room for Alysia, but Alysia interjected, not wanting to impose too much.

“Ah, I don’t need anything extravagant…”

“It’s okay! You’re worried about causing inconvenience, aren’t you?”

“No…I’m not really-“

“Worried about that, are you?”

Alysia and Liesche’s conversation was in a complete sync. The King, watching their interaction, thought that it was good that they have become such close friends.

“With that said, let’s prepare for your stay,” the King declared.

“Alright…”

Subsequently, Alysia was led to a guest room larger than any room in her own mansion.

The room was furnished with a clearly luxurious desk, and bright crimson curtains framed the windows. Yet, Alysia paid no mind to these, instead diving onto the bed draped with high-quality blankets, situated in the sleeping quarters at the back of the room.

“Mmm…”

She nuzzled her face into the soft fabric, moving her limbs to relish the comfortable sensation. Rolling over and stretching out in a star shape, Alysia slipped under the blanket after unbuckling her belt.

As she hadn’t had enough sleep in the carriage, she decided to take a nap.

“Good night…”

Murmuring to no one in particular, Alysia swept her hair to the right to avoid damage, erected a physical magic barrier around herself, and then drifted off to sleep.

Six hours had passed since Alysia settled into her bed. Gradually, the day began to lean towards its end, and the sun floating in the sky bathed the royal capital in an orange hue.

In such twilight, a solitary figure stood atop the roof of Illux Castle.

A man, his long white hair tied at the nape of his neck, made a grand leap from the rooftop, slipping into the window of the room where Alysia was staying.

He advanced into the depths of the room, into the bedroom where Alysia lay sleeping, standing beside her as she lay defenseless. Currently, the luxurious blanket that covered her had slipped down to her chest due to the heat.

Thinking she might catch a cold in this state, he reached out to adjust the blanket on her chest—

“…!?”

Just as his hand was about to reach the blanket, it was repelled by an invisible wall. It was a physical magic barrier set by Alysia herself.

“What…?”

Despite perceiving the barrier, he reached out for Alysia once again. Unfortunately, she happened to awaken at that moment.

Recognizing the figure standing beside her bed, Alysia called out his name in a sleepy voice.

“…Lisel?”

“Yes…”

“…! You, what were you trying to do!?”

“Woah, wait a moment. Alysia, this is…um…”

He had his hand reached out towards the blanket, cautious of the barrier.

The sight that the awakened Alysia saw was Lisel’s hand hovering just above her chest. Even if he was worried about her catching a cold, the scene could easily be misunderstood by anyone who saw.

“You couldn’t possibly…be trying to take advantage of me, could you…!”

“No, no, I was just worried you might catch a cold…see, over there.”

Lisel pointed out the position of the blanket to Alysia, who had unwittingly raised her voice.

“…Hmm!”

Swish!

Her face turning red, Alysia grabbed the blanket and quickly pulled it back over herself. Perhaps she was embarrassed by her own misunderstanding. She had already confirmed that his words were not a lie.

However, Lisel was powerful. It wouldn’t be surprising if he had some kind of ability that could help him lie…

“This is awful…”

“Cheer up, would you… How about we take a look around the royal capital?”

“Hmm… Well, fine.”

Though Alysia’s tone remained cold, Lisel settled down on the room’s sofa and told her to prepare as he waited.

In response, Alysia jumped down from the bed, wrapping the belt placed beside her around her waist. This was all her preparation involved.

“Is that all?”

“That’s all I need.”

“Alright then, let’s depart.”

With those words, Lisel swung his legs over the window. Realizing what he was about to do, Alysia lined up next to him and followed suit.

And so, the two of them leaped into the night of the royal capital, spreading the wings they usually hid wide and soaring high into the sky.

03-14 Another Meeting with the King…

Edited by JohnDFord

As she walked along the long hallway guided by the prince, a large wooden door appeared before them. It was the entrance to the room occupied by the king.

“This room is-”

“Yes, I get it.”

She cut off the prince completely and inclined her body towards the door, touching it with her pinky finger.
Just like before, there was indeed a particular reason as to why she went to such lengths to do something like this. It was more or less because her pinky finger was Alysia’s weak point.
Although she was still very young, she was still a vampire. Her physical prowess alone had long since surpassed the capability of a typical adult man.
However, it was her stroke of bad luck to lose the opportunity to keep growing physically past the age of twelve. Thus, it was extremely hard even for her to strengthen herself up to her pinky. Just the amount of times she had tried thrusting her fingers would bring about an inexhaustible amount of unpleasant memory.
Therefore, in an attempt to strengthen herself whenever possible, she would use a single pinky finger to open doors from time to time.

“Alright!”

“W-wait..”

The prince quickly tried to stop Alysia after suspecting what she was about to do but unfortunately did not make it in time. The king was surprised at the sudden action and stood inside the room in shock.

“Yo king, I has come!”

“What is happening!? Oh, it’s Alysia, so you’ve come? Why so early in the morning?”

The king rebooted his frozen consciousness and felt relieved that the person he had granted audience to previously had already left.

“King, I have something important to tell you.”

“Hm, what could it be?”

“Before that, can we move to the room next door?”

“Very well.”

The king stood up and headed towards the reception room. Alysia followed him into the room and closed the door behind her with both hands on her back.
Few of the servants inside proceeded to move to the inner part of the room to prepare tea as the two walked inside.

“Now then, so what I wanted to tell you is..”

“It’s related to that matter, is it not?”

“Yep. There’s just a little something that I want to ask.”

The moment the king sat, the servants swiftly came in to serve them tea. They placed cups, milk, and sugar on the table, before leaving the room in a dash after a respectful bow.

“So basically, I received two more bandit subjugation requests from the guild since last time.”

“To think you really did it.”

“And then…I’ll get right to the point.”

Alysia had a habit of taking a pause before approaching the crux of a topic.
She took her time even now. Taking her habit as a cue, the king took the chance to prepare himself for a serious talk.

“Is Solf someone you sent to Qwalcie as a spy?”

“Hm? I don’t know what happened for you to come to that conclusion, but that shouldn’t be the case.”

“Then, on the contrary, the chance that Solf is actually a spy sent here by Qwalcie should be quite high.”

“Why is that?”

In an attempt to answer the king, Alysia disclosed the series of events that had transpired since she undertook the request in order.
Including the kidnapped victims inside the hideout, and until the point where she defeated the leader of the bandits. She told the story so much in detail to the point where it would make one wonder if it was even necessary.
She then continued her story past that point.

“I was honestly surprised as well, but apparently all the bandits there were former slaves.”

“What? That is indeed surprising..”

“And then, I heard from the leader himself. Apparently they were bought by a minister of Qwalcie called Solf.”

“!?”

The moment he heard the name Solf, the king went stiff.
To think that the name of an excellent minister of his kingdom would show up as the name of a minister of Qwalcie, it was truly something he would never have expected to happen.
Followed by an unbelievable story afterwards, it was natural for him to be in denial.

“Hmmm, is there any chance that said leader could be lying?”

“No chance, as long as nothing extraordinary happened at the time. I can more or less tell whether someone is lying or not by their flow of mana.”

Alysia immediately shot down the king’s desperate attempt at denying her claims with no time to spare.
Keeping his shock in check, the king continued to convey his doubts.

“Then, what if Solf was the one lying?”

“It’s not impossible, but the chance is still very low. In this case, what would he gain by declaring himself as the minister of Qwalcie?”

“That is certainly true..”

The king was deeply troubled by this revelation. There was a chance that this matter could escalate into a war between the two countries if handled poorly. Those worries of his were probably beyond what Alysia could even imagine.

“Very well, I understand. But what should we do in that case..”

“That’s true..”

The king was still troubled, but he had at least decided on the course of actions they should take for the time being.
If for argument’s sake, Solf turned out to be a minister of Qwalcie sent to Ircus as a spy, this would definitely turn into an international incident. However, the most important problem, in this case, is to find a way to prove that Solf was indeed a person from Qwalcie.

“Then, should I go do it?”

“It’s too dangerous. Especially considering the fact that he tried to assassinate you…”

“Even when I’m confident that I won’t be killed that easily?”

Alysia’s red ruby eyes stared right at him.
It was something that she herself was unaware of, but her pair of deep red blood eyes had the power to captivate anyone who gazed into them.
The kindness and dignified combined as one and turned into a unique sense of intimidation, imprinted her presence strongly in their minds.

“I understand. If it’s you, Alysia, I wish to do nothing more than wish for you to return bringing good news to us.”

“Thank you.”

Her regal aura at times was able to overwhelm other people, coercing them into following her wishes.
It was so dignified that she could even influence someone as high ranked as the king, the reason being someone’s social position in real life did not always correspond to their actual status.
Alysia was a vampire who had lived longer than a hundred years, while the King of Ircusu was a measly human of tens of years of age. In that regard alone, the difference between their regal aura was overwhelming.

Alysia heard what the king said and closed her eyes. She hung her head down and consumed her tea before gazing out the window.

Seems like it will still be a while before I can resolve this.

She thought and took out her notepad after concluding her future course of actions. Even if she were to go to Qwalcie, she could not afford to keep skipping school as she had been until now. If possible, she was hoping for a long holiday where she could be free for a long period of time.
Everything was to find the one person who caused her physical growth to stop. Alysia drew a large circle around the place where it says ‘3rd Month, 24th Day’.

Le Festin de Vampire ~ Chapter 03-13

03-13 Eunice’s Sword

Edited by Fractal (Halfway)

Alysia spread the grimoire open on top of the desk inside the carriage. She unfastened her katana and put it down next to her. She would be spending the entire day inside the carriage so she began racking her brain, looking for a way to kill time.

“I see!”

Alysia reached under the desk and opened a gate into the hyperspace. She then withdrew Eunice’s sword and a few ores.
These ores were the ones she reclaimed from the bandits whom she annihilated and were essentially the property of the workers who worked in that mine.
Regardless of this fact, there would be no problems if she kept the ores under the pretense of reward for herself. Placing the sword and the ores on top of the desk, she needed to find the correct ore from the pile. She started by taking a black ore.

In the end, only iron ores remained on the desk, with all other ores placed back inside the hyperspace. She didn’t plan to use up all the iron ores in her arsenal, so she placed the extra iron ores back into hyperspace as well.

She poured her divine power into the iron ores to create a contradiction. She was changing the chemical structure of the ore by manipulating a certain chemical element.
As a result, the ore was blazing with fire from the wind and fire system . She was able to shorten the process of removing the impurities from the ore, a process which was usually said to be extremely difficult. Even Alysia herself didn’t realise at first that her power could be used for something like this.

She had to imagine the clear image of iron, specifically the chemical structure of the substance.
She couldn’t produce an exact image of it in her mind but should be able to increase the accuracy by combining her will power and ability.
And then, Alysia unleashed her ability.

ーーーーmove!

Using her strong determination, she was able to extract an iron ingot of 100% purity from the ores, falling on the table.
The rest of the ore became a smooth, sand-like lump of impurities, as it crumbled down.

“Uwa…”

Despite being the one who had done it, Alysia was still surprised at her own work. Continuing her work, she held up another iron ingot in her hand.

She used levitation magic and poured more of her divine power into the ingot in order to unleash her ability once more. She added a simple contradiction which changed the melting point of the iron to the room temperature.
The iron ingot started to melt while still floating in the air, the metallic liquid taking the form of a ball. With this, she wouldn’t need a high-temperature furnace to process the iron.

Alysia separated carbons from the air and created a strong steel by mixing them with the iron.
Furthermore, the metal was of ultrahigh purity so it shouldn’t rust. If she used this, she should be able to make the greatest sword that should be the dream of every blacksmith in the world.

It was finally time to start the second part of her work. The sword would also undergo a similar process, and she only needed to insert the steel that she made from the iron ores inside the crack.
It was easy once it got to this. She just had to fill the hole using her ability.

“Finally…”

Alysia seemed tired as her body fell on the desk with her arms stretched out and her eyes looked sleepy.

ーーーーAh, I have to clean this up…

Alysia threw the remaining ores scattered on the desk back into the hyperspace, and put the sword next to her katana.
She blew the sand of the impurities outside using her wind magic.

Alysia then started a conversation with the coachman sitting at the front.

”Excuse me, Mr. Coachman?”

“Hmm?”

“Were you sent here by the country?”

“Yeah, something wrong?”

The coachman tilted his head, not understanding the meaning behind her question.
She just wanted to make sure before she slept, whether this person was trustworthy or not.
It wouldn’t be funny if someone stabbed her heart while she was sleeping.
Ignoring the coachman who was still tilting his head, Alysia fell asleep with a relieved look on her face.

“Hey, wake up!”

“Nna….”

Trying to wake up Alysia who was sleeping while drooling, the coachman reached out to her.
However, what came out of her mouth was only sleep-talking. She had no intention of waking up.

“Hey!”

“Nn, nnu, nnua, what?”

After being called several times plus repeated pokes in the cheek, Alysia finally woke up. She gave the coachman a sleepy gaze.
Due to the blood-sucking act the other day, Alysia’s blood pressure had been low and it made waking up pretty hard for her.

“Let me sleep…”

“No, we’ve arrived at the capital.”

“Eh, already?”

Hearing that, Alysia could feel her sleepiness going away.
She grabbed her katana in a rush and attached it to the right side of her waist.

“We’re currently at the carriage station of the guild of the Ircusu Royal Capital.”

“Th-thanks!”

“You’re welcome. So, what are you going to do next?”

“Let’s see…”

Being asked that, Alysia folded her arms as if thinking. It couldn’t be fully expressed in words how cute her gesture was. (He couldn’t possibly say that she looked super cute while doing that)

“For now, I’ll go meet the king.”

“…I see.”

After that, the coachman went to the reception desk inside the guild to take care of the formalities before coming back to Alysia.
Apparently, he received a permit to park their carriage in this place for the whole day.

After saying goodbye to the coachman, Alysia began towards the castle which was visible from a fair bit away from their current position.
The presence of the castle which could be even from the middle of the city which had tons of buildings really stood out after all.

Arriving before the drawbridge, Alysia addressed the two soldiers who were guarding the gate at both sides like before.

“Excuse me, can I receive permission to have an audience with the king?”

The usual lively girl atmosphere was nowhere to be found. No matter how you look at it, the way Alysia talked to the two soldiers was the perfect example of the mannerism of a noble.
No, she was an actual noble girl. It was just pretty far away from the image that she usually had.

“You are… Yes, the young lady Alysia from the other day!”

“Huh!?”

Young Lady Alysia.
She unintentionally coughed at those words. She had never thought that she would be called ‘Lady’ by someone one day.

“Wh-what happened? Is everything okay?”

“I’m fine. It’s just that I’m not used to being called a ‘young lady’.”

“I see, I’m sorry.”

The soldiers said as they both realised that the atmosphere had turned a bit awkward.
The one who broke the ice was Prince Leol who appeared from behind the soldiers.

“Ey, Alysia! You came!”

“Ah.”

Having realised the presence of the prince, Alysia walked closer to him.
Naturally, it wasn’t like she wanted to get close to him that badly, it was just that she felt it would be better than keeping this awkward atmosphere.

“So you wanted an audience?”

“Yes.”

“Then, I can go ask for you now if you want.”

“Please do, thanks.”

Alysia said and crossed the drawbridge together with the prince.
The soldiers tried to stop them but lost their will after seeing how close the two of them were.

Certainly, she could have gotten herself an audience with the king had she forced her way through. However, she didn’t do that because she didn’t want to cause too much trouble.

And then, together with the prince, Alysia headed towards her second audience with the king.

Le Festin de Vampire ~ Chapter 03-12

03-12 Departing to the Royal Capital

Editor: Fractal

After a while, Alysia finally woke up from her second nap.
She moved her legs inside the futon and turned around. As she did, her hand touched something hard. Opening her heavy eyelids, she saw the present given to her by the black-haired beauty in front of her.

She was dumbfounded as to how it got there, before realising another fact. The cross pendant was already placed around her neck.
She could probably accept the fact the other items were placed next to her but for the pendant to be on her neck, truly a feat only a god could accomplish.

Alysia got changed and shifted her attention back towards towards the bed.
She wondered if Sheriana had woken up before her, since part of the futon had already been rolled up. Noticing this, Alysia placed the scythe and her licence on the table before heading for the living room.

“Morning! Ah, you were here, Claire.”

“Yes. I didn’t feel like returning because Sheria stayed here yesterday,” Claire said, seizing Sheria as she walked past. She was ready to leave, seeing as she had already put on her usual white clothing and academy robe.

“By the way, I will be going to the royal capital today… Sorry, but I can’t take you guys along.”

“It’s fine, don’t worry about it.”

“Can you buy us some souvenirs in return?”

In response to Sherianna’s begging, Alysia thought for a moment before finally opening her mouth again.
“In that case, what kind of souvenirs would you like? I’m fine even if you’re a bit greedy.”

Having overheard the conversation, Fian popped her face out from the rarely used kitchen. Walking towards Alysia, her right hand held a tray with a glass of juice on top.

“For me… I’d love a relatively high-quality magic staff!”

“Got it. What about you two?”

“Ah, uhm…”

This thoroughly surprised Claire, because even though they were allowed to be slightly greedy, a new magic staff was still a hefty investment.

“…A short sword sounds good to me! One with a good magic conductivity!”

“A short sword, right, that’s fine as well.”

Alysia easily accepted Sherianna’s wish.
As a matter of fact, Sherianna had been talking about wanting a short sword for a while now. However, a short sword with a good magic conductivity was a bit expensive so she wasn’t able to locate one anywhere in the academy city.
Sherianna had asked Alysia for one, realising that this would be the only chance she had finally acquire one.

“What would you like, Claire?”

“What should I get…”

“You can ask for anything. The two of them want magic tools, but you can ask for something like an accessory.”

“Then, you can choose for me. Please get something that you think is good for me.”

“Got it, now I have gathered all three requests,” said Alysia, taking out a notepad from the holder on right side of her belt. She wrote their requests down in Japanese.

“Wait, actually, where’s Lisel?”

“He left just a short while ago.”

“Too bad. I wanted to ask him what he’d like…” Alysia grumbled as she slid her notepad back into the holder.
Never would Alysia have thought that this statement would spread the rumour about Lisel being her boyfriend.

“I’m leaving, bye.”

“Please stay safe.”

Alysia was sent off by four people in at the entrance of the academy. Even though they had class later in the day, Alysia received permission from the principal to skip it due to the guild’s commission.

Alysia would ride to the royal capital using the carriage waiting for her in front of the guild.
She was wearing her school shoes and a red, one-piece dress. The cross pendant lay on her neck. The right side of her belt held a grimoire and notepad, restrained inside a holder. Lastly, her beloved katana was on her left side. Even with all this, it was still more or less a formal look for Alysia.

She walked on the road for a bit before arriving at the guild. There were about ten carriages on standby in front of her.
Groove, the receptionist, waved exaggeratedly as soon as he saw her.

“Alysia, good morning!”

“Morning!”

After exchanging a fairly energetic greeting, they stood next to the carriages and began conversing.

“You will be riding this carriage right here. Have you got any luggage with you?”

“Nope. I’ve brought bare minimum with me.”

“I see. Then it’s fine.”

The carriage she would be riding was fully covered with a roof, which seemed to be pretty sturdy. This type of carriage was called a Prairie Schooner and was for the high-class. Nevertheless, it was something a noble like Alysia had seen many times before.

ーーHowever, riding it came with its own set of troubles.
By improving a part of an item, there was the chance you would end up sacrificing another part of the item.
This type of carriage was used often by nobles, and as a result was the primary target for bandits.

Therefore, she wanted for them to prepare a different kind of carriage. Although, in the end, she judged that it probably didn’t matter. If she was unlucky enough to run into bandits along the way, she would just ask for extra remuneration from the guild.

“So, when are we departing?”

“We’ve been preparing since yesterday so we’re pretty much ready to depart anytime, so it’s up to you.”

“It’d be best if we arrived ASAP, so let’s go now!”

“…you heard what she said. The princess has spoken!” Groove joked as the coachman appeared from inside the carriage.

He looked to be around fifteen years old in a human’s standard, but judging someone’s real age in this world was pretty much impossible.

“Nice to meet you, Mr Coachman.”

“Yeah, you too. …Come on, get inside.”

“Thank you.”

The coachman opened the door and urged Alysia inside.
Alysia went inside and let out a sigh of admiration at the soft, well-made cushion on her seat. There was a desk at the front, so she realised that she could use her time to read her grimoire there. She could say that this carriage left nothing to be desired.

“See you!”

“Aye!!”

The carriage started moving as soon as they finished their goodbyes.
She was relieved that the carriage was extremely comfortable, especially considering the fact that she would spend an entire day in it. As she thought about this she opened her grimoire and lay it on the desk.

03-11 A Gift

Editor: Fractal

Feeling the warm sunlight shining on her through the window, Alysia awoke from her slumber.

She turned to her right and stumbled upon Sherianna, whose body lay beside her in a tranquil sleep.
She softly caressed Sherianna’s blonde hair, its beauty only masked by the blood splattered upon it. Sherianna leaked a soft voice in return, cutting through the silence. While observing her Alysia spotted Sherianna’s blood red pupil, barely visible through her meagerly opened eyelids.
As Alysia flipped her body to face the other side, she was taken aback by the presence of Lisel curled up next to her.
Personally, she had no problem with him sleeping. However, the problem lay in the fact that Lisel was sharing a bed with two lovely girls.

Alysia brought her fist down upon Lisel’s head with tremendous force, expressing her fractious mood.

“Ouch!!”

“Why are you sleeping here?”

“…Well, there was no other place to sleep,” answered Lisel as clutched his head with right hand. Holding it there to nurse his pain, he gently rubbed his eyes with his other hand.
To remain completely unharmed after receiving a hit which could easily crush a giant boulder, Alysia was taken aback. It seemed that dragonkins were not to be underestimated, far past even Alysia’s previous expectations.

“Couldn’t you have slept on the sofa?”

”You’re being mean…” Lisel answered and he stood up, heading for the living room.

Her low-blood pressure being the culprit, Alysia couldn’t resist the temptation of sliding back into the comfort of her blanket. A certain warmth radiated from Sherianna’s body, and like a moth drawn to a flame, Alysia curled up beside her. She slowly drifted back into her sleep, the pleasant blanket engulfing her.

ーーEh? Where am I…?

Alysia suddenly found herself in a wooden house which she didn’t recognise. She looked around restlessly as the strangeness of the situation filled her mind.

Finally, having realised she had fallen into the floor, she hurriedly took the help of the large wooden table next to her to stand up.
The fact that that it took her that long to realise that she had fallen was strange, but she decided to put that aside for the time being. This was due to the extraordinarily great presence radiating from beyond the door, situated across from the table.

An ordinary person would have been petrified, or even lose their consciousness. However, Alysia was aware of whom that presence belonged to from the beginning.

“Long time no see, black-haired beauty-san. Won’t you tell me your name already?” (TL: Kurobi= black-haired beauty)

The door slowly opened and Alysia recognised the face emerging from behind the door. She was the provisionally-called, the black-haired beauty-san.
Today she wore a strange attire, like she had a cloth wrapped around her entire body. The cloth was coloured radiant white, symbolising purity itself.

”It hasn’t been that long, has it?”

”Well, it certainly doesn’t feel that way, because there’s been a lot going on recently.”

Lately, Alysia’s days had been filled. The tournament, bandit extermination quest, and rendezvous with Lisel had kept her busy. Truly a lot had been going on. As a result, it felt like a lot of time has passed since her last meeting with the black-haired beauty.

“Do you need something?”

”You see Alysia, you’ve been officially registered as a Grim Reaper.”

”…Ah, the application form that I got the other day.”

”Yes, that one! There’s something which I need to hand over to you in regards to that…” the black-haired beauty said. She waved her hand in the air and created a black hole. It was similar to the sub-dimensional magic which Alysia had used before.
She inserted her hand and groped inside, looking for something.

”…Yep, this should be it.”

The black-haired beauty pulled out her hand and showed Alysia three items. The first one resembled some kind of tools. If you were unaware of its real worth, it’d look like a cheap knockoff.

”This is?”

”A gift from me,” said The black-haired beauty with a proud look on her face. She handed over a black rod which was clutched in her hand. It was around 15 centimetres long and 2 centimetres thick.

”If you pour your divine power into it, it will turn into a Grim Reaper’s scythe. Care to try?”

”Yeah.”

Alysia poured her divine power in and, just like the black-haired beauty had said, the rod’s length extended to a six telms, with a four telms long crescent-shaped blade attached at the end. It had transformed into an enormous scythe.

“Why is the weapon taller than me?”

“…That’s because no one around your height has ever become a Grim Reaper before.”

“Ah, I see. It’s not that the weapon is too long, it’s just my fault for being too short, right?”

Seeing Alysia’s scary smile, the black-haired beauty involuntarily took a step back.

“There’d be no problem if I was only short for the time being. But, I’m practically stuck like this forever.”

“Right…Sorry…”

“It’s fine. I will definitely develop a height-extension magic someday,” Alysia declared as she once more shifted her attention towards the palm of the black-haired beauty’s hand. The next item was a silver plank as big as her student ID.
It was mostly likely some kind of credential that proved her status as Grim Reaper. She was about to ask the black-haired beauty regarding it when she got interrupted.

”This is a licence which is used to freely enter and exit the celestial world. The expiration date is 87 years from now.”

“…That’s long!”

Even though she had a wrong assumption about the said item, Alysia was more surprised by the length of the expiration date.
The celestial world was essentially a world where the gods and goddesses who had existed for hundreds and thousands of years lived. Inside of that world, 87 years probably meant nothing.

“Right, non-mortals are different after all…”

”That’s correct. Lastly, this is for you.”

Only a purple box was left on the palm of the black-haired beauty’s hand.
As Alysia reached out her hand to grab itー
“Stop. Now, turn around and close your eyes.”

“Oーokay.” Alysia did as she was told. Then, she felt a weight hanging around her neck. Regardless, she was still very confused.

“Okay! You can open your eyes now.”

As she opened her eyes, the black haired beauty held out a hand mirror in front of her.
Reflected in the mirror was the figure of Alysia with a beautiful cross pendant hanging on her neck.

“This is…!”

“I made it myself!. How does it look?”

The pendant gleamed silver, with a long black line resembling the night sky and a short gold line reminding her of the glowing full-moon.

“It looks amazing! I didn’t know you could make something like this…” Alysia said, completely captivated by the pendant.
The colour and the tint of the pendant were all chosen with a lot of effort, taking Alysia’s hair and eye colour into account. The true beauty of the necklace could only be displayed when worn by Alysia.

“Thank you so much!”

“Uwa!?”

Alysia, overcome with emotion, hugged the black-haired beauty. She clung to her and would not let go.
According to what the black-haired beauty told her later , the wooden house was built inside the dream using her imagination. Apparently, while inside the dream you could materialise anything which one could imagine.

“Well then, see you!”

“Thanks again!!”

Alysia kept thanking the black haired beauty until her consciousness became faint and she returned to reality.

I’m sure you’ve noticed the new layout, I hope you like it, and I KNOW THAT EVERYONE HATED THE OLD DESIGN. It was bad, but I liked it, but now that I think of it, I do like this one better.

Le Festin de Vampire ~ Chapter 03-10

03-10 Leisure Talk

Warning Note: The author said that this chapter is pretty much R-15 ish and not everyone might enjoy it so proceed with caution.

“Can you stand up?” demanded Sherianna as she grabbed Alysia’s arm after she moved behind her.

“Yep,” answered Alysia as she stood up next to Sherianna and turned her body around. She pulled her hair to the left and offered the nape of her neck to Sherianna.
Until now she had probably been bitten several times when she got her blood sucked. However, that fact was belied by the beautiful white skin on the nape of her neck that lacked even a single scar.

Sherianna gripped Alysia’s shoulder tight as if telling her that there was no running away as she began feeling up the smooth skin on Alysia’s nape. She was trying to find out the location of her blood vessels.
As a matter of fact, last time Sherianna had tried to find one by guessing and ended up biting into Alysia’s small veins. On top of not being able to savour the desired sweetness of Alysia’s artery blood, she ended up having to bite her many times over. In order to avoid all that, this time Sherianna had opted to feel it up first.
”…Found it!” Sherianna shouted as she felt the sensation on her fingertips. She confirmed that she had found the location of the warm artery vessels on the spot she was touching.
”It’s fine, right? Itadakima―su!” Sherianna said politely as she sank her fangs deep into Alysia’s nape.

”Ah….Wait, it tickles…”

The sharp fangs of the young vampire effortlessly penetrated Alysia’s smooth skin. Having found out the location beforehand, Sherianna was able to get to Alysia’s artery pretty easily as fresh red blood started to overflow from her neck. She started licking Alysia without a moment’s delay and stuck her lips close to her neck as if kissing it.

Feeling vexed by the fact that she was stuck being on the sucked, she turned her neck around hoping to begin a mutual blood-sucking.
Nonetheless, Sherianna also moved every time she turned her neck around and she was unable to bite her at all.
“Let me, suck you too…”

”…Puhaa! No. You’ve sucked me enough before,” answered Sherianna as she buried her face into Alysia’s neck once more after separating from it for a brief moment. And then, she started sucking her blood even more intensely than before.

”…Ah!!” Alysia moaned as her body grew limp and fell to her knees.
Obviously, that wasn’t enough to stop Sherianna. She laid Alysia’s body down like as if putting her to sleep. Sherianna placed her body on top of Alysia’s and started sucking her blood.

“Hey?”

“Haa, what…”

“My blood, wanna suck it?” asked Sherianna as she lifted her mouth and looked at Alysia’s face.

At the end of the day, Sherianna may have wanted Alysia to suck her blood after all. Alysia sat up on the floor and she pulled Sherianna’s upper body towards her as she buried her face in her neck.

And then, she began sucking her blood.
No one cared whether their uniforms were stained with blood, or that a pool of blood was forming on the floor. On the fact that they were able to sate their cravings and indulge in each other’s blood mattered.
The blood on their chins and necks dripped inside their uniforms, dying them red. When their uniforms rubbed the floor, lines of blood were formed as if being drawn by a brush.

Nevertheless, like humans, vampires would eventually lose their consciousness if they kept losing their blood. A few minutes later, as a consequence of losing too much blood, they were attacked by a heavy dizziness all of a sudden.

Alysia and Sherianna fell on the floor while clinging to each other. However, both of them still haven’t separated their mouths from each other’s neck.

――It’s not that we don’t want to, we just can’t.
On top of having their body grown limp because of having their blood sucked, their body also felt languid because of their blood deficiency.

And so, Lisel looked at the two collapse into the floor and said ― “…Vampires are amazing, eh.”

”Wouldn’t it have been great…Haa, if you had conformed to a vampire instead?”

”To be honest I do regret it. But, I still have to stay this way for another 10 years.”

――It seems that I seriously regret the fact that I hadn’t become a vampire.

Ultimately, Lisel carried the two unconscious girls to bed.

Le Festin de Vampire ~ Chapter 03-09

03-09 Lisel’s Visit

Editor: TechTrad

The two of them returned to the southern part of the academy where all the dormitory buildings were in. They walked past Dorm A ―which was Lisel’s Dorm― and went inside Dorm D where Alysia’s room was located in.
As they walked along the hallway which was decorated with red carpet, they saw a door at the innermost part of the area. The word D204 was engraved on the board hung in front of the door. That was Alysia’s room.

As Alysia took out her student ID, Lisel brought his face close to her ear and spoke softly― “Wait.”

”Wahyaa…!?”
Having someone speak softly into her ear when she wasn’t expecting it got Alysia surprised and she ended up letting out a weird squeal. She quickly turned around to face Lisel while somewhat blushing and said, rather flustered―”Wh-wha-wha―what are you…!!”

”Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you. It’s just…can you lend me your student ID?”

“…Sure,” answered Alysia in a low voice while facing down as she handed the student ID she was holding to Lisel.
The whole reason why he did that was just so that he could enter Alysia’s room before her and surprise Fian. Therefore, he needed her student ID to unlock the door.

*door opened*

”Is someone…!?”
However, before Lisel had the chance to, Sherianna had opened the door because she heard people talking in front of the room. Although, for some reason, Sherianna froze on the spot as soon as she came out.

”Sheria? What’s wrong?” asked Alysia, as she tried to review her current situation. Alysia had turned her face around as soon as Lisel brought his face close to her ear. Naturally, their faces were in a very close proximity.

“…Alya, you had a boyfriend!?”

“I―don’t!!” said Alysia as she grabbed Sherianna out of extreme embarrassment.

Lisel, the concerned party, was just looking at the two without saying a word. Even though if he had said something, he could have probably solved Sherianna’s misunderstanding.

As she stood there, Sherianna began to guess the identity of the (misunderstood) Alysia’s boyfriend. She asked, timidly ― “Say, aren’t you Lisel-kun?”

”I am, what’s up?”

Sherianna’s guess was correct. From there, she started to build up a conjecture about the two’s relationship based on the incorrect misunderstandings.

――As expected, Alya doesn’t seem to be interested in someone who’s weak. Lisel seemed pretty strong during the tournament, and if Lisel had liked Alya even back then, I can understand why he would give up the match for her!!

“Guys, Fia, Claire!! Alya has a boyfr―mmphh.”

”Like I said, he’s not my boyfriend!!”

Alysia didn’t know what Sherianna was thinking when she suddenly ran inside and started shouting. Alysia seized Sherianna’s neck from behind and stopped her. Naturally, what happened after was very dangerous.
Lisel still did nothing but watch them, while Sherianna continued spouting nonsense. Alysia grabbed both of their necks and dragged them inside while looking somewhat angry.

The three of them entered the room and sat on a circle around a desk, along with the other two people who were inside the room from the beginning. Despite the earlier confusion, Lisel was calmly sitting right next to Alysia on her right.
Sherianna thought it was strange after all as she stared at them while sitting to the left of Alysia. Although she stopped after being glared at.

”…I’ll say this just in case, but me and Lisel are just friends. Don’t get the wrong idea, please.

“Y―yes!” Sherianna’s body involuntarily trembled in response to Alysia’s overbearing remark. On the other hand, Fian and Claire looked confused as they had no idea as to what was going on at all.

”So, what did you come here for, Lisel?”

”I just wanted to kill some time, and I don’t even know where Lasel went.”
Lasel was the name of Lisel’s stepbrother. Alysia hadn’t gotten the chance to really talk to him when they met at the tournament some time ago, but it appears that they were unexpectedly getting along rather well as siblings.

”Fine. Then, I’ll go prepare some drinks so just wait here while talking or something.”
Alysia was bad at cooking. However, when it comes to luxury grocery items― such as medicinal plants ― she was pretty exceptional at brewing them compared to other people.
Drinks were of course not an exception to that. Having the taste of a noble, Alysia has learned the way from her mother. A wise man used to say, the joy of brewing is also part of enjoying a drink, and leaving everything to your servants is out of the question.

“Yes.”

A few minutes later. Alysia placed the drinks that she brewed on a tray and placed it on the desk where everyone was sitting. She placed each of the drink in front of everyone while listening to their talks.

”It’s good,” said Claire, who was the first to had a taste. Alysia perhaps felt happy to have someone compliment her drink as she had a full-on smile while drinking her cup.

“Hey, Alya?”

”What?” replied Alysia after she gulped the drink inside her mouth.

Sherianna had finished more than half of her cup when she placed her cup back on the table and asked ― “You haven’t forgotten your promise, right?”

”………..Ah,” responded Alysia as she recalled what Sherianna had said to her before she left the dorm.

――Let me suck your blood when you come back.

Alysia didn’t know why Sherianna brought up the topic suddenly, but it might have been because she got reminded of it after seeing the scarlet colour of the drink.

“…Ah, later.”

“No way, I want to suck you now,” pleaded Sherianna as she stood up and walked over to Alysia before she stopped right behind her. Thinking that she would probably chase after her even if she ran away, Alysia half-resigned herself to her fate of getting her blood sucked by Sherianna.

A few moments later, after the continuous blood-sucking, Sherianna and Alysia ultimately collapsed on the living room’s floor.
Seeing that, Lisel muttered ― “…Vampires are amazing, eh.”

”Wouldn’t it have been great…Haa, if you had conformed to a vampire instead?”

”To be honest I do regret it. But, I still have to stay this way for another 10 years.”
The conversation between the two was rather strange but impressive. Apparently, when you harmonise, you will be stuck in that body for a set period of time. Therefore, for another 10 years, Lisel wouldn’t be able to turn into a vampire.
Needless to say ― neither Fian, Sheriana, nor Claire had any idea as to what the two were talking about.

“I would like to become one, too, someday…”

”Did you say something?”

”Nah, it’s nothing.”
Such was the conversation that the two had right before Alysia fainted.

Le Festin de Vampire ~ Chapter 03-08

03-08 The Outcome of the Commission

Editor: TechTrad

“Hey, drink this.”

“Thank you.” In the corner of the guild hall, Alysia sat across the guild receptionist with a desk between them. His name was apparently Groove.
She drank the orange juice she was given in one big gulp and looked straight at him. “Including the previous matter, what was the outcome of the commission?”

“Well, firstly, regarding the commission…” Groove took a deep breath and spread the papers he had on his lap on the table in order. There were six sheets in total. The writings were so small and packed so closely together that Alysia lost all will to read it.
“There are six sheets of papers, and three of these official documents are for one part of the commission. I will explain everything in order.”

“Yeah,” Alysia responded as she leaned her upper body towards the desk. Alysia then started skimming the rough details of sheets. One sheet was regarding her reward, two sheets were regarding the post-treatment of the bandits, and the last three sheets of papers were for her guild rank.
The first two sheets of the last three were not worth mentioning, but the content of the last sheet of paper was so surprising that Alysia reflexively asked Groove for an explanation. “Umm, what happened to my guild rank?”

“Yes, right now you’re still F-rank, but the commission that you’d taken was for B or C-rank, right? A level three commission is C-rank, and commissions of level four or higher are considered B-rank. The thing is, if you finished a commission of rank four or higher, you’d basically receive an instant promotion.”

Inside her brain, Alysia was trying to process the information which she just heard and the things that she had understood so far. In the end, she arrived at a conclusionー “Ah, so basically, I’m an E-rank now?”

“Yes. To get a promotion on your first commission, you’re probably the first in this academy…”, Groove said, astonished, as Alysia listened carefully. She had her lips on the cup and was only letting out “Nnnn” sound.
“So basically as a reward, in addition to the 24 silver coins that were promised, you were given permission to take a total of 10 morts (50 kg) of the ores that you want. But, you have no use for it, right?”
What Groove said was reasonable. In the case of buying a new weapon or repair, if you have ores you’d be able to get them done at a lower cost or have a weapon made for you as a priority order. It would probably be an advantageous reward to adventurers who wield weapons. However, the one who finished the commission this time is a student of a magic sorcerer academyーーwho happened to be a smol loli.
“So basically, adding the ores to the reward money….”

“You don’t have to do that.”

“10 silver coins….ーEh?” Groove was bewildered as he heard the unexpected reply. Alysia felt amused seeing his reaction, and let out a small laugh.

“Like I said, you can just leave it be. I just happen to be in need of some ores.” In actuality, in order to fix Eunice’s sword, Alysia had decided that she would produce the metals needed on her own, using ores. Using her own ability to transform matter, she also wanted to check the limit to what she could create.

“Fair enough, you can get the ores directly from them. Though, regarding the third matter, what are you going to do after sending the bandits to the kingdom?”

“It’s a secret!” Alysia answered with high vigour as her whole face turned into a smile.

“Ah, right…” After hearing that kind of reply, no one would be in the mood to pry further. With a complicated expression on his faceーwhich is a mixture of regret and delightーGroove started to collect the papers on the desk.
“With this, we’re finally done. I recommend that you keep the documents. Now, I’ll go inside for a bit and get you your reward money.”

“Yeah.” Alysia received the six sheets of paper from Groove. He then stood up and walked towards the interior of the reception area. The reason why he handed out the documents to Alysia was that in the future, it will become an extremely useful certification of Alysia’s personal history.

Clinking sounds resounded in the hall as the receptionist, Groove, walked out from the interior. He stood next to Alysia and called out to herー “Here are the 24 silver coins.”
He crouched and handed over the silver coins which were packed inside a pouch to Alysia.

“Thank you.”

“You don’t need to thank me. You worked for it.” The reward this time was a total of 24 silver coins, which was exactly two gold coins, which amounted to the weekly living cost of a plebeian household in general. It was a considerably hefty sum for a young girl to receive by herself, even if she was of noble birth. It wasn’t strange that she had inadvertently let out a word of gratitude.

Incidentally, the value of a gold coin is equal to 12 silver coins and one silver coin has the same value as eight copper coins. Including the Ircusu Kingdom, this system is being used by a total of five kingdoms, therefore this currency is pretty much ubiquitous in a considerably large area. Going further, there is a coin whose value is the equivalent of 20 gold coins, which is called platinum coin. However, it is mostly utilised in the transactions between countries and never really appears in the market.

“Okay then, you’re gonna be here again tomorrow morning, right?”

“I am.” Tomorrow morning, the carriages with the bandits on board will head for the royal capital. Alysia will head for the capital alongside them. It will take a full day but she can’t possibly use her flying magic so it can’t be helped.

“Take care and come home safely.”

“You don’t say,” said Alysia as she shook Groove’s hand lightly. She then pushed the guild’s door open and returned to her dorm room…ーwas supposed to be what happened.

“Yo!”

“…Ah.” In front of the guild was Lisel who was standing there for some reason. He drew closer as soon as she saw Alysia, took her hand and started walking.
That development probably made them look like siblings who were close to each other. As one would expect, no one would probably see them as lovers, based on their height difference.
“Wait, Yuu. What are you…”

“I was thinking of intruding your room for a bit.”

“If you’re gonna intrude then go home,” Alysia replied. Hearing her rejection, Lisel just laughed and put his other hand on top of Alysia’s shoulder. On the contrary, Alysia had a sullen look on her face.

“Come on, don’t say that. It’s fine, right?”

“…Well, it’s fine, but.”

“O-kay, let’s go then.” Eventually, Alysia ended up quarrelling about whether they would to take a bath together or not, and she ultimately caved in. Thus, Lisel and Alysia headed towards the dorm room together.

Le Festin de Vampire ~ Chapter 03-07

03-07 – There were heaps of things to do

Alysia entered the academy’s guild and walked towards the receptionist straight away. It was early in the morning and Alysia’s presence caught the attention of the few students who were already there.
However, being used to that already, Alysia completely ignored the inquisitive gazes and placed her head on top of the reception desk. She also loosely extended her hands on the desk.

“Morn—”

“What are you doing this early…. Don’t tell me, you’ve finished the request already!?”

“I’ve finished the request, but there are things I’d like to talk about. It’s better if we can go outside, are you busy right now?”

“I’m free right now, but what happened?”

As soon as the receptionist answered, Alysia had already begun walking towards the entrance of the guild and the receptionist had to chase after her. Alysia swung the door open as soon as she arrived at the entrance. The receptionist was astonished at the sight before him, there were eight carriages stopped in front of the guild

“W-what—…what is the meaning of this?”

“I brought the bandits and the victims of the kidnappings here. I didn’t know what to do with them, so I asked the miners in the area for help and got them to lend me their carriages.”

“I thought you were only supposed to defeat the boss…. It should have been written on the request paper?”

“Ah”

Alysia suddenly recalled the content of the request paper. She just realised that she had completely forgotten the completion details of the request.
Realising that, Alysia reflexively covered her mouth with her hand and responded while blushing.

“…I completely forgot, teehee~”

“You know…. Fine, nevermind that for now. So what should we do about this?”

“Let’s leave them to the country. We should return the captives back to their homes. If possible, by tomorrow.”

“In that case, I first have to investigate the contact person for the request. Can you wait for me a bit over there?”

Alysia listened to him and sat on one of the chairs inside the guild. While thinking that she had better ask for the name of the receptionist already, she peeked into the mirror which was installed on the opposite side of desk. What was reflected there was black clothes and black hair with ribbons tied on both sides. There was also a big, long katana and a grimoire hung on a belt, and the body of a loli that was for some reason tied up with ropes. A white inner skirt was also visible below a black skirt. It was similar to her usual appearance except for the fact that there were dirt and mud plastered all over her whole body.

Ah, I really need to take a shower.

Alysia thought, and decided to head back to her dorm. She didn’t forget to notify the receptionist who was talking to the owner of the carriage before she left.

door opened

“I’m back.”

Alysia opened the door and entered her room. Alysia took a few steps into the living room and she saw Fian sleeping on her table in her nightgown. Despite her attempts at waking Fian up, Fian was too sleepy and fell back to sleep once again. She then walked closer, shook Fian’s shoulders, and turned her head sideways.

“Fian, I’m home!”

“Nya, fuaaaa…”

Fian slightly opened her eyelights and yawned after she turned to face Alysia. Then, a rhythmic knocking sound came from the entrance of her room. Judging from the amount of their magic power, Alysia knew that it was probably Claire and Sherianna.
Alysia used teleportation and opened the door to welcome the both of them. It was probably wasteful to use such an ability for something like this, but it showed just how much Alysia wanted to see them.

“Morning!”

“Ah, Alya-san! You’ve returned.”

“Yep. I was out working on a guild quest.”

When Alysia took Claire and Sherianna to the living room this time, Fian was facing the side, sleeping on the table while drooling. Fortunately, today was a day-off, so Alysia decided that she didn’t need to wake her up and left her alone.

“I just came home, so I’ll take a bath first.”

“Take your time. We’ll just—”

“We’ll be in your room!”

Claire was about to answer Alysia, but Sherianna suddenly grabbed her arm and dragged her inside. Alysia sent them off with a smile and entered the bath after taking off her belt.

Alysia rose up from her bathtub and headed towards her bedroom to see Sherianna and Claire. Incidentally, Alysia had change into a black one piece dress which she used as a loungewear.

“I’m done.”

“Yeah!”

Sheria replied as she stopped reaching out for the things on the shelves and withdrew her hand. The shelves were of course Alysia’s, and they were full of her personal belongings. Sheria was intrigued and couldn’t control herself when she saw that.

“…I’m going to change, so do you guys mind stepping out for a bit?”

“Can’t we stay?”

“Ah, that’s right! We’ll help you change!”

Once upon a time, Alysia was treated as a dress up doll by three certain people. Sherianna opened the wardrobe which they used to keep all the clothes from that time, and took out a piece of western clothes. Fearing that she would be made a dress up doll once again, Alysia decided to run away.
…But due to the limited space in the bedroom, she was easily pinned down by Claire. Alyshia could’ve easily escaped if she had just used her ability, but she just couldn’t use it against her dear friends.

After a few minutes had passed. Alysia hung her head down while sitting on her bed, wearing black and white clothes.

Her shirt was a white short-sleeved shirt and the shirt collar was tied together with a red cloth slightly adorned with golden embroidery. However, there was no other part that stood out. Even her skirt was a plain, long, black one. Overall, although it can be said that it was relatively plain, just like the saying ‘Simple is the best’. While being simple, the contrast between the between the black and the white colour exuded a mature charm.

“Done, this looks good.”

“I agree, fufu.”

“…”

After Alysia recovered a few minutes later, she suddenly rummaged through her luggage in the corner of the room. Wondering what just happened, the two people looked at Alysia while bemused. They found it hard to start a conversation with her considering what they had just done earlier.

“H-hey…”

“It’s not like I’m angry or anything, you can talk to me normally.”

“Ok, then…. What are you doing?”

“Well, just wait and you’ll see.”

Said Alysia as she stood up and opened the hyperspace with her hands held out. Inside was the loot she took from the bandits jumbled up together.

“Is that hyperspace magic!?”

“Ah, so Claire knows about it?”

“What is that?”

In contrast to Claire who seemed to know about it as she let out her voice in astonishment, Sherianna simply tilted her neck in confusion.

Alysia picked up a sword which was in the corner of the room and carefully tucked it away inside the hyperspace. That sword was the one she received from Eunice after the first round of the tournament. Since the crack had yet to be repaired, she had placed it inside the hyperspace so she could repair it anytime.

“I’ll be heading out again.”

“Ah…then, let me suck your blood when you come back.”

“O-okay….”

Once after the tournament, Alysia who was half-asleep at the time sucked Sherianna’s blood so hard that Sheria got bedridden for a whole day as a result. When she got better, Sherianna hugged Alysia from behind and whispered in her ear, in a way that would stir someone’s fear—

“Next time, it’ll be my turn to suck you dry, Alya.”

—It was then that Alysia thought that she acted like a real vampire.

Although she was half asleep at the time, she knew that in the end it was caused by her vampiric urges. She obediently resigned herself to having her blood sucked by Sherianna later that day, and was sent off by the two at the entrance.

“Take care!”

“Bye. I’ll be back by evening.”

“Even if you say that, you’ll probably be late like usual!”

“Ah, well…I-I’ll try my best.”

Alyshia politely answered, as she realised that she had probably made the receptionist wait for a long time and began making her way towards the academy’s guild. Incidentally, Fian was still sleeping even after she had left.
